MyStudentLet, Chichester’s only letting agent dedicated exclusively to students, is celebrating its first birthday in June with a special event for local landlords and businesses.
Mystudentlet was launched by ex-Chichester University student Catherine Faircloth in June 2010. “I had some bad experiences with agents and the standard of accommodation when I was studying in Chichester, so I saw a gap in the market for something more professional”, explains Catherine.
Having drawn up her business plan while working at the University’s accommodation department, she decided to take the plunge and bring Mystudentlet into the world. “It’s a fresh approach to letting. I know what students and landlords need and I’ve put in place procedures that make student letting smoother, simpler and less stressful for everyone involved”, comments Catherine.
The only letting agent renting solely to students in Chichester, Mystudentlet has gone from strength to strength in its first year. The business has tripled its property portfolio in 12 months and has student lets in Chichester, Bognor Regis and Portsmouth. “It has been a great year. From launching the company and our website to organising our birthday bash, it has gone by in a flash. It has been hard work but very rewarding”, says Catherine.
Mystudentlet is celebrating its first birthday at Crouchers Hotel in Chichester on 16 June with local businesses and landlords. “I use local businesses wherever I can and I want to say thank you for their support over the last year. It’s also a chance to get them together with local landlords and perhaps generate them some work. I’m really looking forward to it”, she says.
